WOYWW 111 and some stamping

It's Wednesday again, although it is kind of my Monday as this is the first day back to work for me - but hey 3 days later and it's my weekend again so all is good.

Managed some playtime last week. Was stamping butterflies and reindeer. The butterflies are from a set of 3 Woodware stamps i got at the SECC fair back in March but i had fun experimenting with gel pens; promarkers and stickles to see what kind of results i could get. To be honest the stickles I prefer using over precoloured sections to highlight, or as little snowflake dabs. They didn't give good enough coverage to be used on their own.

I was also having some problems with my memento ink - it didnt give great coverage on block areas  (as all the white bits on the reindeer shows), it was OK as outlines for the butterflies.

So what have you been playing with, join us over on Julia's blog to see what we have all been doing.

have a great wednesday

Beeyoootiful butterflies, soo pretty :) Look forward to seeing what you do with those! Great suggestions for grey fabric - a big, in-your-face pocket/straps on a green apron would be cool. Hmmmmm, gotta go find my scissors..... have a good week :D xx

Those butterfly stamps are gorgeous and I love the colours you've filled them with. I swear by Versafine Onyx Black for giving good coverage on large areas, as well as fine detail stamping.

Lovely Stamp. Shame about the Stickles covarage, they would look good glitterd too. Maybe try loose glitter?

I agree about the stickles..defo. On the solid stamps, try buffing them lightly with an emery board..just gives the surface soemthing for the ink to hold onto instead of beading...on some silicones it won't make a difference, but it's not damaging, so worth a try!

Hi Caroline, not really a WOYWWer this week but visiting anyway. Interesting experiments with the stamps and the your results with stickles and how solid stamps can be tricky to ink. The butterflies are gorgeous. Elizabeth x
