WOYWW 197

Well Sunday at the craft exhibition in SECC was a nice day out but a bit disappointing for new scrapbooking products. Actually, any scrapbooking products would have been nice. Lots of dies, but I just spent lots last month. Lots of glittery things, but a whole pile of glittery bits and bobs are in my scraps box just waiting to be used.
That is not to say I came away empty handed. That would be wrong...so on my desk today....my haul.

No reinkers, Mr Huey or glimmer mists....so I bought some mica powders thinking to make my own. Well, we will see how that goes....any suggestions on how to would be gratefully received. I bought 3 acrylic paints too because I wanted a red and a vibrant yellow. Might be a wee sneaky hour traversing YouTube for video tutorials me thinks. I met Barbara from Clarity, she is just as lovely as on TV.
So that is my Wednesday desk, show us your one. We all meet up at Julia's desk so that is a good place to start

Enjoy your stash haul! Barb is lovely, isn't she!! Mix a tiny amount of mica powder (use the end of a lollypop stick) into a little spray bottle (I do use the Ranger mini misters but any fine nozzled spray will do) and top up with water, shake and spray - have fun! Helen, 11

Nice haul you got but shame they did not have more of the things you wanted. I do the same as Helen, above, I use mini misters and just a tiny bit of powder too and they work beautifully. Happy Woyww, Anne x #23

I found the same thing when I went to Ally Pally, hardly any scrapping stuff, but guess it'd be difficult for companies to decide which stash to take with them, so they take stuff thats not to specific. Looks like you got a few good items though!

Looks like a lot of new stash there Caroline. I missed going to the Grapevine TX craft show last month but I am saving my nickels to go to the one in June in Dallas/Ft. Worth. I usually mix up my color and then add about 1/4 teas or less of the mica to the bottle and shake it well. I wash the sprayer out after each use too cause the mica tends to clog them up. I write the color mix right on the bottle with a marker. Thanks for sharing. Have a great week. Vickie #1

I am trying to stay away from the stuff I already have and use more of what I got too!

Hi Caroline, didn't participate in WOYWW or the SECC - not up to it. Such a shame that scrapbooking is so neglected - I was suppose it's down to the low numbers of folk who do scrap - thank goodness for online suppliers. However, you did find some nice goodies - like the dragonfly embossing folder and the micas - you will have fun with those. Frugalcrafter on YouTube has a great demo on how to make shimmer mists - you might find that worth checking out. Hope your weekend is going well that the little lady, herself, is doing okay too.
