WOYWW 75

Wednesday again, were there any other days inbetween this week?

This is my relatively tidy workdesk. I liked the freebie papers that much i used them again for a 21st card. The other card is a work in progress. I'm not sure that i am happy with it, well with the gold peeloffs and the chalking on the flowers and leaves anyway...it might evolve over the next day or two.

To the left is a pile of freebie papers, some adhesive gems (which i am truly begining to adore) and my trusty trimmer - CM.

I really do have a lot of freebie papers that need to be used up, some are still in the magazines. I'm getting better at using them, it pleases me when i see them on a page layout or a card, but does anyone else find it hard to make that first cut. Once they are no longer intact I can hack away without a care, but that initial cut.....well, say no more.....

Last week I managed all the blogs again, I am starting to understand why people dont like word verification! Will try hard, but I'm not sure I'll make it round to everyone this week because I have a few things on.

Happy WOYWW everyone, and if you are new to the desk-showing mania please pop over to Julia's blog to find out why we are all addicted...

You did better than me last week. I agree about word verification. It sucks!! I wish no one used it.

To answer YOUR question, I have a friend who is remodeling his house, and WOYWWendy and I went to help yesterday. I took my pneumatic sprayer, a multiple disconnect, and air hoses. He supplied the air compressor and we had fun playing in the big boy tools. I love tools.

I have a question for you. Where do you get freebie paper? I've never even seen freebie paper. But you sure have a stack of it. Let's see, I'm number 5 this week (had to look).

I had such a huge pile of freebie papers that I decided to give them all to a friend who had just started crafting. That way, I felt good and didn't have to cut them! Pam (24)

That's great you're using paper you've already got. I love the stick-on jewels too. They're addicting.

Both cards look good but no doubt you will get inspired to finish the second one although it looks fine to me!
I don't use my trimmer, given up on sraight lines...it does not cut true 90 degrees, so nothing is straight.

I was going to tell you that I really loved your stepper card - I bet it will turn out just fine.

I totally know what you mean about cutting into papers - that's my arguement for having cd's with backing papers on.

I know how hard it can be to make that cut. Some of my papers are just for looking they are perfect. Others I cut and tear and crinkle and give them a general hard time but all for a good cause. Sandra

Great cards - I can understand the hard to cut thing, though if I'm really in love with a paper because it's exactly what I need, it's never a problem!

Word verification - to my mind, a necessary evil....

Wow that's a great stack of free paper, it's hard sometime cutting in to it, but that's what it's there for, so I just get over it and do it! Can't believe how big that pack of sticky gems is, looks bigger than your trimmer!!

Agreed - long is the admiration of my paper stash and slow is their slicing. But just looking at a beautiful paper is also part of the joy. But so is creating something original - so dive in - good job!

Oh no, I'm over the cutting into it, it's knowing what to do with the large uncut portion after I've taken a slug out of it!! Like your card very much - how about trying silver or a dark green or pink instead of the gold? You and I both re-visit re-visit!!

Your cards are both lovely! Where do you get freebie paper? Not that I NEED more paper but you know, paper is yummy and I always WANT more, lol!
Thanks for the peek!

Oh all those gems - wonderful. I made a New Year's Resolution to use up papers I had/was given for my work for charity in 2010 and I have succeeded and only printing off for commissioned cards/Design Team cards. It's getting a bit boring now as sooooo many nice papers around but let's see if I'll make the year!!! Thanks for sharing your workspace. Best wishes, Kym xxx (WOYWW No 35)

Ah, yes. That first cut. Didn't Rod Stewart say the first cut is the deepest? hee hee. I refer to my papers that haven't been used yet as living in my paper zoo. On display but not used. Lol. Cards look great. Go cut some paper! *smile*

P.S. Dh and I saw Pink Martini in concert last night--great group that does a very interesting variety of music. I mention it because the lead singer said that they are so popular in Turkey that the fans begged them to do a song in Turkish. She asked anyone Turkish in the audience to come up to the stage and perform a well known song and two women jumped at the chance. It was beautiful! Wonder if you've heard of them?

I'm like that with materials. I keep buying fat qtrs on ebay and then cab't bear to start cutting them up. Just bought 5 with fairies on to make a patchwork bag so am going to have to steel myself to cut them up. Yep the 1st cut is the deepest so the song goes.

P.S. I hate word verification too.......:(

Your desk looks incredibly ordered and where do you get all the freebie paper - I have some but nothing like the amount you have piled up there. At one time I never used the freebies because often the paper feels thin but recently I have found a use and I never have a problem cutting into it. hugs, Elizabeth #63

I'm late, but I'm here - better late than never! I like the card in the middle of your desk. That does look like a lot of paper you have - I'm the same, always reluctant to make the first cut - it's always worth using it though.
